The East Village Derby

O’Hanlon’s and the 11th Street Bar hold a special place in the hearts of both North London and Merseyside. Though we support our clubs from afar, our ties cross the Atlantic. We may devote ourselves to different teams adorned in Red, but we share the same care for our community and a desire to build lasting bonds in the East Village.

In that spirit, LFCNY and Arsenal NYC are uniting to bring you The East Village Derby!

The Match

  • What: A 7v7 football match between Arsenal NYC and LFCNY

  • When: Friday, October 30th at 7:00 PM

  • Where: SoccerRoof Wall Street - 28 Liberty St Lower level 1, NY NY 10005

While both sides want to make their shade of red proud, this match is about much more than football. We are coming together to support causes close to our hearts, standing firmly for gender equality, LGBTQIA+ visibility, and the welcoming of immigrants in our communities.

How the Charity Competition Works

  • The Color Clash: Whichever supporters' club raises more money before the match earns the right to wear Red. The donation cutoff is October 29th.

  • The Prize: The winning team secures 55% of the total pot for their chosen charity. While there is a winner on the pitch, both causes benefit.

The Causes

  • Arsenal NYC is playing for DonorsChoose, an organization that gets teachers sorely needed supplies to create new opportunities for students. Learn more at DonorsChoose.

  • LFCNY is playing for The Father’s Heart Ministries Hunger Prevention Services, which feeds hundreds of families right here in the East Village every weekend. Learn more at The Father's Heart.
