For the last two years Oliver Anderson has collected a host of data on Liverpool football club's players and results and has finally written them up in this book on the 2005/06 season. He has managed to link the book to one of Liverpool FC's best writers on the internet and in print, Paul Tomkins, who himself has written two book over the last two years. Neither of them think stats are the be-all and end-all, but used in the right way they can add to the understanding of what's occurred on a football pitch.
The book is more-or-less completed, but they are just putting the finishing touches and undergoing edits, and awaiting any further new signings so their details can be added, as they've done with Craig Bellamy, Mark Gonzalez and Fabio Aurelio. The book deals mainly with last season, but there are a whole number of comparisons made with the year before.
As of today the book can be pre-ordered. There will be 750 unique limited edition copies available from Paul's site http://www.paultomkins.com/trr.html, signed by Oliver and Paul, and all copies bought direct from this will be sent out in mid-September, long before it hits the shops (Waterstones, Amazon etc) on November 1st (in time for the Xmas market).
The RRP is £11.99, plus P&P, but there are discounts for ordering The Red Review with Paul's latest book, Red Revival, as seen below.
The follow-up to best-selling 'Golden Past, Red Future' by Paul Tomkins.
Red Revival picks up where the critically-acclaimed Golden Past, Red Future left off, examining how the club built upon (and indeed, recovered from) its unexpected and emotionally overwhelming Champions League success, both domestically and in Europe.
Red Revival looks at the overall development and progress of Liverpool FC since Rafael Benítez's arrival, with the main focus on the progress shown during the 2005/06 season.
Released in shops June 20th 2006, but personal orders despatched worldwide from June 6th via this website, RRP £11.99 + P&P
First 1000 copies from the website will be signed, individually numbered and have a limited edition collector's edition cover.

Earlier this year, Little Dishes opened on Seventh Avenue in Brooklyn. The restaurant is a joint venture of a husband-and-wife team, Colin Wright (a member of LFCNY) on the stoves and Mira Friedlaender in the dining room.
Little Dishes serves a roster of Mediterranean-leaning American cuisine prepared with little fuss and few showy flourishes.
The concept of Little Dishes is present more in its name than on its menu. The name, in fact, sounds a singular wrong note, inflicting a too-firm dictum on this humble, eager-to-please restaurant.
In fact, the new Park Slope destination, like most restaurants, offers both little and big dishes, and serves them in courses, in that order. Chef Colin Wright cooks a tremendously appealing brand of American food with no preciosity or pretension. The dishes, big and small, are eminently sharable, but more for the joy of it than due to any tapas-style enforcement. No plate has more than a few ingredients, and none of them are even faintly exotic, but they're exactingly chosen and combined, to excellent effect.
With its straightforward menu and accommodating vibe, Little Dishes is the sort of restaurant any neighborhood would be happy to call its own.

Here is a song to remember and to remind us all . . . .REMEMBER US 3.14 by Dean Walker. You can purchase the song from the iTunes Music Store or email 2dogsrecords for mailing options.
The following is an extract from his 'blog at myspace.com/deanwalker.
"3.14 takes us back to that fateful day at Hillsborough, right back to the last precious minute when we were all still alive. At 3.15pm 95 fans were pronounced dead by the Governments coroner. 3.14 tells of the loss, recaptures the atmosphere of the before and relives the pain of the after. It is for the families, the friends, the loved ones, everybody who was a part of it. And the little piece of each of us that died on that day. I wrote 3.14 the night after performing at a concert for Hillsborough at St. Georges Hall in Liverpool. The concert brought back the injustice of the tragedy to me, overwhelming me, as I was at Hillsborough on that terrible day.
I have addressed and have the approval of the HFSG, Justice Campaign, LFC, and the newly formed Hope for Hillsborough Campaign, (set up by Anne Williams,) for 3.14.
3.14 was recorded in Parr Street Liverpool, mastered in Metropolis London and is being released on download on 14th April, available at HMV and Virgin, with physical release to follow."
