Well, could it be an omen? Benitez's first ever competitive game was a 2-0 away win in a European qualifier, and we went on to win the whole competition!

Tonight Uncle Roy has got the same result in his first competitive game, so here's hoping History repeats itself!

Couple of decent goals by N'gog, which will advance his case to stay, or alternatively, put a few quid on his value if he goes.

Reasonably sound and professional performance, it seems, in the absence of our major players.

With the Anfield tie to come, this should surely now be done and dusted, but we've lots of previous for struggling at Anfield after an excellent result in the away leg; so I suppose we shouldn't take it for granted yet. Wonder if he will play some of the bigger names next week?

The only thing that suprised me was Ngoo in the starting line up, but what a prospect he looks, his pace was electrifying down the wings, the down side was his final ball, that was awful.
Kelly was fantastic as RB, i seriously question why we need to look away from the club for extra strenght in that department when we have him!!
Poor Kyrgiakos was booed on every touch of the ball by the masadonians, was it a cultural thing?
Sprearing was solid as was Lucas in MF, Lucas came in for some great praise from RH after the game.
I am just delighted this game has been put to bed the first time of asking.

WELL DONE RED MEN...

BHR Macedonia is also a area of Greece and there are issues. They were ok till the final third. Aqua looked crap as did Kelly.

My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Napoleon had that idea and he conquered the bloody world! And that's what I wanted. For Liverpool to be untouchable. My idea was to build Liverpool up and up and up until eventually everyone would have to submit and give in.

I agreee with your remarks about Aqua, i am a bit worried about whether he will fit into Liverpool way or not, so far his price tag has been very flattering, as for Kelly, only last season we were praising him and before his injury he got praise for games he played in, i still think a player like kelly is ideal as the understudy to GJ, and should be give more game time when ever possilbe and i bet he will flourish and save us a few quid..

I'm sure most people already know but today's game is not available on television Stateside.

It will be streamed live on LFCTV for those with eSeason Tickets as well as through the usual streaming sites out there.

Have been very impressed tonight with the team. Jovanovic works his socks off and the link-up between Cole & Stevie looks excellent. Also thought Kelly looked good at LB, as well.

I know the standard of the competition is perhaps a bit low, but can't but be pleased.
