TURNS OUT its really just kids playing, with critchley saying oldest is merely 20. so here's to youth vigore and utter excitement of making a name for themselves against the lower leagues. menthally i'm looking to see if these kids are mosters or wanna-bes. i'm betting on monsters, theyve all seen it up close and are trainig it day to day, so its time lads to show your ffuucckin mettle.

Are they giving them a holiday from school to play this fixture?

I'm a bit concerned about the impact of the late start on their bed-times...

the lads are all right, a bit bruised and battled. but delivered the win!. mentality monsters, check, intensity check, organization check, crisp passing check, ball control check, intention no good, there was a serious lack of intention up until the disallowed goal bu shrewsbury, which i guess scared them, because after that I saw full on intention, so yes they do know the difference between intensity and intention, just not used to exploring it. more of that Critchley! well done lads, you get to have 2 pints! yaaaaay

A very different game from the Villa League Cup game. This time, the team were a lot more composed, especially at the back and they looked very comfortable on the ball. I said after the Villa game that one of the differences was that Villa usually could play the ball without looking up, whereas the kids had to have line of sight before passing. Last night they got that right, there was more of an understanding, they looked more like a team.

Williams, Chirivella, Jones and Elliott caught the eye and the Dutch duo in the center of defense were largely untroubled. Finishing was a problem, especially in the first half, but there was no doubt that a win was the right result. I suspect Klopp will profess to being delighted but pissed off that he now has another game on the schedule.

The FA have just said that if Liverpool win the FA Cup, the Community Shield will be played at Melwood between the first team and the kids.
