Default Aston Villa v Liverpool: 'Proper' 3PM Kick-off for John Terry's Ma

Aston Villa have done OK at home this season so far, only losing to Bournemouth in August and Grealish is a quality player, so this won't quite be a walk in the park. Man City host Southampton (it seems like they haven't played anyone serious yet, no?), so we will need the three points for sure, if we want to maintain our 6 point gap on them.

Genk at home on Tuesday, so I think we can safely put out our strongest team, with some variation in the middle of the park.

    Dave's team:

    Allison

    TAA Gomez VvD Robertson

    Hendo Fabinho AoC

    Salah Firmino Mane

By all accounts - I saw neither the match nor highlights - Villa were hard done by in their 3-0 loss to City. I suspect a tough game along the lines of Sheffield United.

(BTW, what can't this game double up as the League Cup QF? )

Lallana in to protect Fabinho from getting a yellow and being suspended for the City game. Keita's injury just a knock.

This late show thinggy. Getting kinda ridiculous now, isn’t it? In a good way obviously, but it does seem like it’s a competition to see who can score the latest.

    What an afternoon for Mané:
    1. Gave away the free kick and the follow up free kick that led to Villa’s goal.
    2. Supplied the cross for Firmino's "goal".
    3. Got booked for diving (not).
    4. Heaton made one of the saves of the game from him when he pressaged Robertson’s goal at the far post.
    5. Supplied the cross for Robertson’s goal.
    6. Took a serious kick in the mush as he scored the winner with an impossible header in the 95th minute.

Not all of the above was positive, but what a day!

Interesting article in The Liverpool Echo. Andy Gray(!) of all people, working for beIN Sports, shows how he thinks VAR redrew and redrew the lines until it found Firmino offside.

Courtesy of Martin Atkinson, the VAR official.

So "Fergie Time" has been replaced by "Atkie Time"?
‘How many mistakes are you allowed?’ Klopp asked the fourth official. ‘Because if it’s 15, you’ve got one left.’

Saw some United fans (no disconnect there then) on FB who are referring to injury time in LFC games as Klopp O’Clock.
