We’ve had easy run-ins in the last few seasons. Not this time.

Overall, not so bad a schedule after all. The run-in may not be quite as challenging as we fear with a Hazard-less Chelsea (likely led by Fat Frank) and a long term project Arsenal.

In league terms, the only thing as good as our hiring Klopp was ManU hiring Solskjaer. Now (hopefully) Chelsea hiring Lampard. Do I hear rumblings about the return of Tim Sherwood? Kompany as player/manager at City? How about Mikel Arteta at Arsenal?

It's not that any of them are necessarily going to be bad managers. It's just that I'd love to have them make their mistakes in the Premiership while competing with us rather than while serving an apprenticeship in the provinces ΰ la Stevie.

‘How many mistakes are you allowed?’ Klopp asked the fourth official. ‘Because if it’s 15, you’ve got one left.’

Top 6 at the end of last season
    City
    LFC
    Chelsea
    Spurs
    Arsenal
    United

Barring a huge spending spree by one of the 4-6 sides (CFC have a transfer ban), plus a Klopp like manager, it’s a two horse race again.

*Chelsea - transfer ban, new manager. Hazard gone.
*Spurs - a probably unsettled manager with a squad that’s both thin and needs new blood. Eriksen gone.
*Arsenal - a manager with a few ideas but a pebble dash squad. Might make a go of it, but a thin squad.
*United - crap manager, aging squad, Pogba probably gone.

Difficult to see this as anything other than City/LFC or verse-vicesa 1, 2 and all others being told, “sorry, yer not on the list”.
