Actually, the ideal time for us to score the opener would of course be 90’.
Mane scored on 26. Does that count?

Today @lfc scored four (4) goals to go past
#Bayern_Munich and advance to the Quarterfinals of the
#ChampionsLeague Bayern began playing the game scared,
very wary of #liverpool's explosive counter attacks, but they
were outplayed across all sectors of the pitch. #BAYLIV @LFCNY

A very satisfying win indeed. I had committed to a charity quiz at my daughter's school this evening, well prior to the game being announced, so I only caught the highlights. From that and what I've read, it looks like it was pretty comfortable (except for that Gnabry cross right through the six yard box at 1-1).

Mane is our best attacking player right now and maybe this season and that first goal was just ridiculous. From Virgil's pass to his first touch, which killed the pace, to his turn to embarrass Neuer and his finish floating past at least two Bayern defenders with real spin. Not sure I've seen a better goal in some time.

As for Virgil? The guy deserves every plaudit he gets (as well as the cheeky dig from Milner that he should score more goals given his height - though he should have mentioned something about service, in return). Hyypia was the best centre-back I saw play for Liverpool, but Virgil is better. Re-up his contract now, please.

Robertson had a bit of a shocker and his unnecessary yellow card will be an annoyance in the next round. One league game before the international break.

Next round? I'd like to avoid Juve, Barca & City. Ajax would be cool.

    Good times.

That second half was a thing of beauty, Bayern couldn't touch us. All three goals were great but that first, yikes, that was on a different level completely. Happy days!

Almost a perfect CL QF draw.

Porto in QF, with United or Barca waiting in the Semis, assuming we get through.

No English team for us in the QF and missing Juve until the finals, assuming.

Very nice, but Porto won't be as easy as last year. Gotta keep the intensity up.

i AGREE WITH YOU TAHT hYPPIA he is STILL my fav canter back/defender that ever played for us, but i do see many similarities with VVD, most especially his leadership, he needs to keep building his game intelligence at the back, thats the one thing that Hyppia has over him. but VVD is that guy to get there and i expect eventually he will surpass Hyppia in my heart too. hYppia was always alble the translate that game inteeligence for his cohorts. and I do need to see more of that from VVD
