Default Bayern Muenchen v Liverpool: Mach oder sterben Zeit

Do or die time for Liverpool in the Champions League, with the ex-United punditocracy suggesting we should throw the match, in order to focus on the league. Sod that. Not to mention, but Bayern will have something to say about the matter, regardless.

0-0 is not the worst scoreline to take into an away leg in Europe, but it's not the best either, especially with our recent track record in European away games. Bayern are playing really well at the moment, so we will need to play at our best to get through. Trent is a doubt, after coming off and that worries me. We are a far better team with Trent in the side, than without him. Hope it was just precautionary.

    Dave's team:

    Alisson

    TAA Matip VvD Robertson

    Gini Hendo Fabinho

    Salah Firmino Mane

If we score first, it’s going to make for an interesting evening as Bayern will be forced to come at us looking for 2. Which, of course, is right up our alley.

Ideally I’d like us to score that first goal somewhere around 20-25 minutes, but I’ve a notion that if Klopp is going to go for it, we should be off to the gengenpressing races from the off.

Actually, the ideal time for us to score the opener would of course be 90’.

Nothing thrills an *elite* team's fans like seeing their players imitate Leicester City in the Champions League at home. It brings to mind the ManU "Attack, Attack, Attack" yelling. If I may quote Paul Pogba.
‘How many mistakes are you allowed?’ Klopp asked the fourth official. ‘Because if it’s 15, you’ve got one left.’

Read that Trent trained today, which hopefully means he starts on Wednesday.

Good point, Sami. An early goal for us would make for a very interesting encounter indeed. Make it happen lads!

The biggest mitigation against that early or late goal is our away form in Europe this season.

Keita not in the traveling squad, another minor injury apparently. He's been a pretty big disappointment to date.

Hmm. Back to the season-starting midfield. Which as we’ve said is workmanlike without ever being inspirational. And Fabinho dropped is a surprise.

So much for scoring early (sigh).
