    Default Liverpool v Everton: Derby!

Liverpool host Everton for the home derby on Sunday. We've been playing some very sexy football of late, but Everton seems to have found a bit of stability with the appointment of the loathsome Fat Sam 'Big Charlie' Allardyce. I expect them to play some agricultural, physical football so Lovren and Klavan/Matip will need to sharpen their elbows. That said, Everton are pants this season and assuming we can get an early goal, I expect to see the floodgates open.

    Dave's team:

    Mignolet

    Gomez Lovren Klavan

    TAA Henderson Winjaldum Milner

    Salah Firmino Coutinho

Looking up the head to head (God bless Wikipedia). Actually the one-sidedness is surprising. Since the 1999-2000 season, there have been 39 games (36 PL, 3 FA Cup).

We don't stand a chance against Everton - Big Sam is a "proper football man" and we play that furrin' running around style. Tony Pulis is still available. At least then we'd be "solid at the back" and "able to see out games".

Also we need to hire a big galoot in January if VVD isn't available then someone a little less fancy. Either Sotirios Kyrgiakis or Sebastian Coates.

We need to play Sturridge up front (perhaps we can get Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing in January).

Christian Poulsen and Paul Konchesky are probably available for a song.

Jurgen Klopp just doesn't understand English football.

We're 14 points out of first with only 23 games to play and we *need* to win the league this year (as we do *every* year).

When will FSG sell out to Robert Mugabe - a strong, wealthy owner with a clear vision for the future?

He’s got the cold Tuesday night in Stoke thing down pat. Can he play on a wet, snowy afternoon on Merseyside? Can he what?

    Another box ticked.

Was that Everton’s 3rd touch in the box all game?

    That was a 1-0 battering.

    Except it wasn’t.

    Dive - 5 - 5.6 - 5 - 5.2

Calvert-Lewin should be made to wear Speedos in the next 3 games.

Lovren should never have given the ref a decision to make.

Calvert-Lewin was heading away from goal. The need for a tackle was not there; rather it should have been a shuntering to the end line.

It was a penalty, albeit a 'soft' one (he definitely threw himself to the ground). No need for Lovren to grab him, so definitely his fault. Feel similarly aggrieved by Mane's selfishness and tame shot, when he should have made it 2-0.

Feel less aggrieved by the rotation and team. That team should have won that game and Klopp made positive substitutions.
