Sometimes it is better to "lose" the battle and win the war. The FA are responsible for a lot of good and bad things but they are infinitely corruptable. They can't be buddy buddy with the owners, managers, players one moment and policing them and judging /sentencing them the next.

And if you were looking for an example of where the phrase "stirring up a hornets' nest" is appropriate:

The relationship between Anfield and Old Trafford and both sets of supporters has reached its current level of hostility in the wake of Luis Suárez-Patrice Evra case.

Apparently the FA have 99.5% problems (and this is why I don't write pithy thread titles) Pretty decent article. TBH seems to be missing something but maybe the genius is in the simplicity.

Nice to see Oldham at least coming out and praising Liverpools handling of what happened last week, especially when its envogue to have a kick at LFC.

And apparently from what I have seen Oldham are getting sh*t for praising "racists".

    oh and this from Twitter-

SteveRotheramMP "I have been successful in getting a Parliamentary Select Committee (DCMS) to look at the whole issue of racism in football/sport (06/03/12)."
Suarez, Dalglish & Evra can/may be called. Presume not "Sir" Alex as he isn't common folk like us anymore nor John Terry as his case may be ongoing...

Is there a point for them to praise those racists who tainted the supposedly racism free football game..

So John Terry is stripped of his captainship in accordance with the age-old English legal principle of innocent-until-proven-guilty-or-a-potential-embarassment-to-the-FA. It's in the Magna Carta somewhere I believe ;-)

    29. NO Freeman shall be taken or imprisoned, or be disseised of his Freehold, or Liberties, or free Customs, or be outlawed, or exiled, or any other wise destroyed; nor will We not pass upon him, nor condemn him, but by lawful judgment of his Peers, or by the Law of the land. We will sell to no man, we will not deny or defer to any man either Justice or Right
I think you can get out of this on the grounds that John Terry is a weasel rather than a man.

Saw this but I don't know if the statistics are real:

Statistics for arrests for racist chanting since 2008-09:

    Bolton – 7
    Spurs – 7
    Blackburn – 6
Aston Villa, Stoke, Man United – 5
    Chelsea -4
    Sunderland, Liverpool, Everton – 1
    Fulham, Man City – 0

Jen Chang (Sports Illustrated) posted those stats originally today (Friday) - they are real.

As for Terry - there is FA precedent with suspending until outcome of case - Bowyer and Woodgate.

Of course in all this mess Anton has been denied justice as well. He did nothing but turn up for work and got abused, certainly as a victim he should be entitled to this being processed as quickly as possible.

Sami may clear it up. I am under the impression that this is before a judge or magistrate and not a jury - If so I'm not understanding the delay as the testimony could be presented to the judge magistrate over several days.

Also of note, Joey Barton went on a twitter rant and as he was 1) on the field of play, 2) Captain of the opposing side, 3) friend of Anton and 4) more than likely he will be called to give evidence; he may be facing prosecution for attempting to influence the outcome. Sheesh. He was warned by several journalists. He is correct (as far as I am concerned) however he just isn't allowed to say it yet. So the whole case could be thrown out.

I did take time to point out that if it is prosecuted before the FA instead of the Crown they have a 99% conviction rate and a higher punishment - fine and games ban. So truthfully I think Terry's solicitor would be more than an idiot to push this out of the courts as I am pretty certain the FA are going to bottle it and say Crown prosecution is punishment enough.

And lastly Piara Powar must be feeling some heat as he changed his twitter handle. Think he got peace and quite for about five minutes.
