Laporte is not the biggest loss at CB for City this season, that’s Kompany.

A City fan, friend of mine, says playing Otamendi and Stones at CB would be our equivalent of playing Lovern and Lovern.

Thank God that Otamendi is okay. ;-)
‘How many mistakes are you allowed?’ Klopp asked the fourth official. ‘Because if it’s 15, you’ve got one left.’

Reckon they can make an emergency loan bid for Mustafi?

Two year ban in the CL for beach of FFP and a likely points deduction in the league (would be nice if they applied that to last year, eh?) Will see if it holds up on appeal, but I think that's curtains for Pep at City if that holds.

    This ban prompts some questions:
    1. How successful will the appeal be? It seems it was set up for a one season ban and one season suspended.
    2. Will it affect Guardiola's stay? There have already been rumors.
    3. What about the marquee players? Will they stay if there's a CL ban? Often, not always, these type of players have such clauses in their contracts.
    4. What about attracting new signings? Guardiola put an end to speculation recently when Messi appeared unsettled at Barca, but suppose Messi had become available? Would he go to a team without CL football?
    5. What about European qualification? We already know that Sheffield United are in a CL spot as things stand, but what about Europa League places? What if City win the FA and League Cups? Suddenly Villa are in with a sniff?
    6. Will the PL do anything? Points deduction? There was a story that City would suffer a Juve-like demotion to the Championship or even further down?

As the great man says, "there's many a slip 'twixt the cup and the lip", but this decision is going to have some very interesting knock-on effects.
