    Default FA Cup Final 2007

    Does anyone give a toss?

Watching paint dry would be far more appealing, and the $20 fee being charged for those of us in the States ($25 if you want to keep yer arse at home) just takes the biscuit.

As I've said to others, if it breaks out into handbags like the League Cup final did, that'd be great. Few longterm injuries and a sending off or two would make it worth the price of admission. Fingers crossed...

Oh, and here comes Prince William, who is sadly looking more and more like his father every day.

I'm watching on the internet via sopcast. Pretty boring game so far. Nothing like Stevie G's heroics of last season (best CL final and FA Cup final in recent memory in back to back seasons).

However I did watch the Stuttgart game on Gol TV this morning, great game. Nice to see them win the Bundesliga (didn't mean to hijack this thread) but that was much more exciting then this rubbish at Wembley

Best possible outcome would be to have the two teams lose, Terry, Lumpard, Ronaldo and Cokehead all clash together in a single challange and break all their legs. Now that would make it an interesting game.

Oh, what a crap game but oh, what a hoot of an outcome!

The Munsters lose the 3rd Place play Off in the dying minutes of extra time & their end empties in seconds, beating our previous record evacuation after losing to them in '96. But this was not before a Ryan Giggs' effort clearly crosses the line but is not given.

Strangely Jose didn't point out that in fact they hadn't really won, which surely must be the case applying the logic he has continually used since the Luis Garcia goal in 2005.

The only down side on the day was that both of these charmless shower of toe rags couldn't have both lost.

SPaul has got it right. What a dire first half! Awful. Second half had more intensity, and I actually enjoyed the extra time.

Since Giggs literally pushed the keeper over the line should the goal have counted had it been seen in the first place?

Just read Barkley's post - so you thought the goal should have stood, Paul? Certainly a point of debate (I thought it should've myself). Cech clearly took it behind before Giggs trundled into him (and I don't think Giggs could stop his momentum, so not a foul imo). Hmm.

And Whiskyface botched it with those subs - as soon as Carrick was taken off I said the Chavs should drive up right through the middle, which is how they scored. Lampard I thought had a pretty anonymous game (nothing new there) but his combo work with Kalou (I think?) and Drogba for the goal was very nice indeed (spit).

Congratulations, Chelsea - the best two cups £500million can buy!

I watched a number of replays on Sky & Bennett showed no indication that he was about to blow for a foul so one can only assume the goal would hve stood had he & his assistant realised it was over the line - which makes it all the sweeter & exposes Jose's hypocracy to boot!

I thought Bennett gave one of the worst Cup Final referring performances of all time!

He spent most of the match ignoring terrible challenges that were clearly yellow card offences, and then, towards the end of extra time (when the coward knew he was not going to have to send anybody off due to very little time left) he was dishing them out like confetti for nothing!

Scholes and Makelele should both have gone before the final whistle. Rooney should have been booked before half-time for constant moaning and whinging at every decision.

Drogba and Giggs in particular came in for some very rough treatment from the opposition defence which went completely unpunished by Bennett. By the end, Ferdinand was probably considering bringing a baseball bat into the field, since Bennett was unlikely to object!!!

Totally **** match. Bennett must take a lot of the blame for that. If he had clamped down on the rough stuff early on, the game might have had a chance to start to flow.

I didn't see the match, didn't care to see it and was not willing to pay $20 to watch a match that I wanted both teams to lose. But I normally think that Steve Bennet is one of the better refs in the league, I'm surprise to hear that he had such a shoddy game. He would have elevated himself tenfold in my eyes if he had send off all the players. Just curious, I know that a team forfeits a game if they have only seven players on the pitch, but what would happen if both teams are reduced to seven players each?
