    Default Stevie G.'s autobiography

Just got my copy - as soon as I ordered it, I immediately regretted it...these books usually aren't very good (too damn young for a life story, even if it's been pretty eventful!) but I was weak and was placing an amazon.co.uk order anyway. Saw some decent reviews in a couple of mags but it was pretty well ripped apart in the latest Red All Over The Land.

    Anyone read it yet?

It's actually better written than I expected - Henry Winter (whom I like quite a bit) is the ghost writer on it. He captures Stevie's voice pretty well, even if some of the phrasing is a bit hard to imagine coming verbatim out of the skipper's mouth.

Still early days yet - best bit so far for me: Stevie saying "Of Mice and Men" was one of his favorite books in school, though "it's a bit of a sad book, really."

Actually, some good bits are Stevie talking about how he was passed over for Lilleshall and how he exacted revenge upon the entire Centre of Excellence squad when they were invited up to play against the Liverpool Youth setup. Pretty funny reading, really. You can just envision the young Gerrard off his leash wreaking havoc!

Will post more as I get further in.
