    Thumbs up Good Ol' Arsenal

Congratulations to Arsenal, who played Juve into submission with an impressive display of expansive, attractive football that ended with the Italians finishing with 9 men as they lost the plot in the final 10 minutes.

I can think of no better successors to our crown than the side who have consistently played the best football in the Premiership over the last decade, no matter what the Mancs & the money launderers might think.

I agree. Well said, Scouse Paul. It's time Arsenal joined Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Manchester United as the token winners of the European Champions Cup, our Cup.

I was cheering for Arsenal today in a way that I could not have if it were Chelsea or Manchester United.

Yeah, I was trying to be disappointed in the result, as I'm used to supporting anyone other than the remaining English side, but wow, what a result. I hope they keep it together in the return leg.

Still. I'll be cheering harder for Lyon against Milan tomorrow. I'd be made up for Houllier if he were to do what Benitez did last year, i.e. inherit someone's else legacy and win the Champions League.

Did Vignal move to Lyon in the transfer window?

    Eh?

Did I miss something or has Nunez moved from Celta Vigo?

whoops. I saw some clips over the weekend-Villarael's new striker looks a lot like our long lost winger. Anyway, if they couldn't beat Betis, I don't see them giving Inter much trouble.
Glad to see Arsenal take such a positive first step. It must be driving Moronho nuts to see another English side make European progress where he failed.

An excellent game indeed - Capello must absolutely *hate* facing English sides by now. Arsenal were breathtaking at times - literally for Juve, as they simply could not keep up with Arsenal's pace. Was almost embarassed for them, really.

Assuming they don't collapse in Turin, who would Arsenal play in the semis? I know the draw's been done but can't be bothered trawling through the UEFA website...

I think the commentator on Tuesday said Milan or Lyons, but couldn't be certain & I can't be bothered checking either, Connie

I'm sorry - make or break time but I cannot root for them tonight. It just does not feel right - yes, they're more root-able than the Mancs and the Chavs but that's not saying much. A little humble pie to eat is not a bad thing - god knows we've had our share. Arsenal are due - a season in the UEFA Cup could be just the ticket.
