And the £50 I had on them at 9/5 made up for the £15 bet I laid on Crouch scoring first at 5/1 being thrown away by the man himself.

I wouldn't be annoyed if we got them in the next round Albert. For me by far and away the best team in the world on current form. A delight to watch.Originally Posted by Albert Stubbins

Yeah that was in response to my wishing we had grabbed him when he was talking up Liverpool after the Uefa Cup win. I think he's a fantastic player. It must be doubly satisfying for Catalans to watch an unwanted Real Madrid player take over the league. Come to think of it, Madrid passed on Ronaldhino too didn't they- the wags said he was too goofy looking for Team Beckham.Originally Posted by Delaware Red
As for Eto'o, I'm not sure anyone could've dragged Real Mallorca out of their habitual slumber. They barely escaped relegation in their first year without him i.e. the handicap of having la Liga's leading scorer. They've tried him, and the very high profile manager Hector Cuper (you know, the guy who built Benitez' Valencia team) who brought in one time Juve hard guy Iuliano and still scraped the bottom. They need to give Japanese U23 Okubo a solid run up front to remind Zico of his existence ahead of Germany.
This classico was a lot like the first one last season; men vs. boys. I suppose it would be unfair not to note that Real Madrid did manage to win the return fixture somehow.

And every day I thank the lord that "the goofy one"didn't sign for United.
Am I right in saying that United's stubborness cost them, they wouldn't pay an extra £1m???
Brilliant.
