    Re: Happy Birthday Big Dave

Happy birthday, big man! And don't forget, 40 is the new 25 - at least that's what I've been telling myself for the past 8 years! ;)

    All the best.

    Re: Boardwalk Empire

Treme was excellent this season - always sorry when it ends.

Nothing on the level of those two shows coming up but Enlightened and Girls (which I never would've expected to like) are certainly...

Southwest? Is this 1st Avenue in New Jersey?

Come back to NY, Sami - not only would we love to see you but we clearly need to refamiliarize you with your old stomping grounds!

    Re: Hillsborough.

There are people FAR higher up the pecking list than that ****. I'm going to imagine he's not on the minds of anyone in Liverpool Cathedral right now, nor will he be on the minds of anyone at the...

    Re: Hillsborough.

To be expected that it's come up but that "man" really does not deserve anyone's attention, nor should mention of him be polluting this thread imo today of all days. McKenzie is bad enough but...

He made it - was just read to the families at the Cathedral.

Re: Happy birthday Phil & STL

Happy birthday, guys! All the best. :)
  12. Re: LFC Vs. Heart of Midlothian - Europa League 2nd leg

And oh some lovely magic from Luis to spare our blushes!

2-1 on aggregate now - hang in there, boys!! Tie is over if Hearts somehow manage another within the remaining minutes....
  13. Re: LFC Vs. Heart of Midlothian - Europa League 2nd leg

Level on aggregate now - major ouch from Pepe.
  14. Re: Hearts v Liverpool: Don't Lose Heart (of Midlothian, that is)

    Well said. :)
  15. Re: Hearts v Liverpool: Don't Lose Heart (of Midlothian, that is)

Both Boardwalk Empire and the upcoming LFC documentary will be premiering on Sept. 16 at 9pm: I know one which I'll be watching.
  16. Re: Hearts v Liverpool: Don't Lose Heart (of Midlothian, that is)

I nicked it off RAWK (will credit Macphisto80 for his great work) - more pathetic Game of Thrones-related stuff! :o Better off linking to the post itself - I ideally wanted the animated gif for the...

Re: Who's following the Tour de France?

Didn't see a need to start a new thread but had to ask the cycling enthusiasts on here what their thoughts are on today's news re Lance Armstrong?
  18. Re: Hearts v Liverpool: Don't Lose Heart (of Midlothian, that is)

What did we think of the "Downing at left back" experiment? Don't know if there are other TAW listeners on here but I immediately thought of Neil Atkinson when the sub was made.

    Thought he did...
  19. Re: Hearts v Liverpool: Don't Lose Heart (of Midlothian, that is)

Borini whiffs at a lovely Martin Kelly cross but nevermind - it's in the net off defender Andy Webster. :D

    0-1
  20. Re: Hearts v Liverpool: Don't Lose Heart (of Midlothian, that is)

Great chance at the arse end of the half - 2 on 1 with an easy layoff from Sterling to Borini, who cracks his shot against the upright. Ouch!

    0-0 at halftime.

Positives are we at least played...
  21. Re: Hearts v Liverpool: Don't Lose Heart (of Midlothian, that is)

Best chance of the game right there - Henderson to Borini.

Game is certainly highlighting the fact that we could stand another (two more?) forwards.

And the fact that Fabio's started today...
  22. Re: Hearts v Liverpool: Don't Lose Heart (of Midlothian, that is)

That's a proper old-school football stand there at Tynecastle.

Hopefully needless worry on my part but I'm a little nervous about our midfield.

Different group though some are/were also LFCNY members.
  24. Re: Hearts v Liverpool: Don't Lose Heart (of Midlothian, that is)

I know I read Carroll was slated to start but was carrying a knock and that it would come down to a "day-of" decision. Whether that's true or not, who knows.
